Bike riders

So this week was pretty busy and I will try to recall everything that happened :)

Monday- We had a 1/2 p day because we were having zone pday on Friday after ZTM! So we emailed and did our shopping. Then we went and did some Less active visits and we only made it into the Mackies home and we were able to give there daughter a blessing! It was cool how the Spirit led us to their house on the day when they really needed us! Then we had to drive to Wollongong to pick up some stuff from other missionaries and to swap cars and then we drove to Mittagong to spend the night at Elder Hunt's flat! We stayed the night because Elder Hunt and I had a ZL meeting the next day!

Tuesday- We drove to Mortdale for MLC (meeting with Pres. back, ZL's and STL's) We got to discuss about our zones and about some new rules for the mission! We are only listening to Motab from now on and I am stoked about that! It is going to help the mission be closer to Christ! So it was fun to see all the homies at MLC and catch up! I learned a lot about leadership and developing my faith! Then we drove back and had to jump start the sister's car because it was dead and then Elder Foa'i and myself drove back to Dapto!

Wednesday- Man this day was a complete struggle! We had MCM and then we switched cars back with the Wollongong Elders. Then after that we went to go and visit some LA's but once again everything fell through haha I was pretty discouraged and kinda pissed haha so we are trying to find new people to teach! Then that night we had splits with the ward and I went with Mills and Elder Foa'i to go and see an aboriginal member of the ward, Sister Sloan! She is so awesome and she basically taught us haha it was awesome!

Thursday- We had a better day this day! I felt sick in the morning but I took a nap during lunch and I felt better! Then we went and did some service which was awesome because my companion is a work horse so I hardly had to do anything haha! Then we went and taught Byron! He was doing really good and he said he has gotten answers to his prayers! We are hoping to set him on a baptismal date next time! Then we went to the Roach's house for dinner and a lesson. It was an awesome day!

Friday- We had ZTM and it was awesome! I gave my first training as a Zone leader! I trained on being a good example and being the first man over the wall! It was a good meeting and the other trainings were really good! Then we had zone p day! We went on a hike to a waterfall and a cool lookout. The hike we were planning on doing was closed when we got up there and we were like no way!! This sucks! hahaha so Elder Hunt and I ran around trying to find a back way to go where we wanted to go and we found some other good trails and hikes hahaha all in all it was a good day! Then that night we rode the bikes to Robert and Niclola's house and we taught them about the Gospel of Jesus Christ! It was a solid lesson and they loved it all! Then we biked home in the rain hahaha it was a lot of fun actually :)

Saturday- We are doing a new park and embark day on Saturdays where we don't use the cars so we can meet more people! We started the day with service for Robert and Nicola! Then we went and walked to get some lunch at the mall and we met some members from New Zealand. Then we went home and got the bikes and we went to the train. Then at the train station we met another member from Melbourne! Then we went and followed up on some potentials and we got into one house but the guy just bashed on us and then went off on a rant about conspiracy theories and what not hahaha Elder Foa'i and I were getting pretty heated so we just had to leave.. it sucked haha but we defended what we believed really well and we were bold! Then we went and did some tracting for a little bit! Then we went and had dinner with the Quinton family and read the Book of Mormon with them! Then we biked to the train station and we met a lady and gave her a Book of Mormon and she gave us her number so we can contact her! Blessings came from parking the car and embarking! It was freezing biking home that night hahaha but it was a good time! I love bikes :)

Sunday- We had church and I gave a talk in Sacrament meeting! I talked about Temple work and the blessings that come from it! Then after church we had ward council which was good! Then we went and had lunch and then went out and did 3 hours of tracting! We had no success hahaha but some people gave us water and not everyone was a total jerk so that was good! Then we went and did weekly planning finally and tried to visit some LA's but had no luck! Pretty good day!

My spiritual though this week is about Acting in Faith! We may not know the outcome of everything but we can know that if we trust in God and trust in the path that he has set for us, then we can know that all will be well! Faith is an action word so if you have faith in something it should lead you to act! If you have faith in Jesus Christ, it should lead you to follow him and keep his commandments! As we act our faith grows, simple as that! SO ACT!:)

Love you guys!

Busy week for the Elders

Man we had a busy week here in Dapto and so here is the rundown for yous!

Tuesday- We had a good p day! We went and played some basketball like usual and it was fun! We got to talk to the kids we play against more about our church and where our beliefs come from so that was really good actually! Then after that we had no appointments so we just went and did some Less active visits and we met one guy who is an atheist now, but was really nice to us, and then a family who has no interest in religion anymore haha so it was an alright night!

Wednesday- We had MCM in the morning with the ward mission leader. Then we went and did some tracting around the area and just met a lot of rude people haha so that was awesome! Then we went to FHE at sister Tysons with the Player family and the other missionaries! We had pizza and played a scripture trivia game! Then we went and just visited Less Actives and recent converts all day! First we got to see Kieran and he was doing good! then we saw the Macgreggors and they are good too just still a little weird haha. Then we went and saw the man Dan Lane! He was good and we had a good chat with him about Charity! Then we saw this elderly couple that aren't too interested but they let us come in and share a message with them so that was good!

Thursday- Had some time in the morning to do tracting before lunch and so we did that and we had no success but all goods! Then we went to see Rebecca Sloan but she was not there so we went and saw Maurine Fisher in the old folks home instead! She was doing good and was really happy to see us! Then we went to see a referral but they were not there so we will try again! Then we did our weekly planning for awhile and that was good. Then we went and saw Brother Mackey and then we saw the Farimonds! We are really trying to visit a lot of people and build up a good teaching pool so we have people to pull from to go teach! Then we got some free kebabs from Kieara Porter at the mall! It was delicious!!

Friday- Had a good DTM in the morning and after that we were able to go do a district finding! So we went and did some tracting around the Dapto area and we had good success! Everyone got at least one potential so that was sweet! Then I had to go and do a baptismal interview for one of the Elder's investigators and it went good! It is fun getting to see the excitement in someone who is about to get baptized and to hear their testimony. :) Then we went and saw Paul Souris and his family! They just had a new born baby and it is so cute! We taught them about the Atonement and did a cool object lesson for them. Then we went to Nicola and Robert's house to teach them about God's plan for all of us and about accepting his will. It was a good lesson and they are both progressing really well!

Saturday- We had a b day party to go to for Kim Player, who is a recent convert in the ward! So we went to that for a little bit and then we went and taught Bro. Wood about coming unto Christ and it was really good! Then we tracted for like 2 hours and it was so fun! It felt like 20 minutes haha! Everyone we met that day was really nice so that made it good and we had some people tell us that we could come back next week so we were stoked about that! Then we went to one of the member's kid's baptism at the church! It was a good atmosphere and there were a lot of non members there so that was good for us! We got to sing a song too as missionaries and that was fun haha even though I suck at singing! Then we tried to do some visits but had no luck!

Sunday- Today kinda dragged on haha. After church we went and gave a blessing to Connie (Keiran's mom) and then after that we saw Sister Skarrats who is a less active lady because she doesn't like tithing. So then we went and tried to visit more people but man we just had no luck! So then we GQ'd and we had no luck again! haha so then we went and saw Cherry Lijuan and taught her at her doorstep! That is about it for our day haha pretty slow day to be honest!

Omni 1:26 "And now, my beloved brethren, I would that ye should come unto Christ, who is the Holy One of Israel, and partake of his salvation, and the power of his redemption. Yea, come unto him, and offer your whole souls as an offering unto him, and continue in fasting and praying, and endure to the end; and as the Lord liveth ye will be saved."

We need to offer our whole souls unto Christ and come unto him! His hands are always stretched out towards us and all we have to do is reach out to him by praying, keeping the commandments, going to church and reading the scriptures! I know it works, I have seen it in my life and the lives of others, so do it!:) Love you guys have a good week!

byeeeee elder smith

wow the transfer is over and Elder Smith is flying home to America as we speak!! Man I am going to miss that guy! He has helped me so much and I am so grateful I got to serve with him! My new companion is Elder Foai (foe-ah-ee) and he is from Samoa! He is such a funny guy and really easy going! He is still learning English but he is doing really well at it! I also got released as a district leader and got called to be a Zone Leader! Pretty excited to serve as a Zone Leader! Well here is my last week!

Monday- We went and played some ball after emailing with the Elders from Mittagong! It was pretty good but it wasn't as fun as it normally is because the people we usually play against weren't there so it was an average day of ball! Then we went to the Tina'o's house for dinner and FHE! It was a lot of fun and they are a great family! We had all the elders in our flat this night because we had a big conference the next day in Mortdale!

Tuesday- We had to take the train up to Mortdale with all the other Elders and sisters in our zone and it was a lot of fun! I don't think people knew what to do with that many Mormon missionaries on the train hahaha so we divided and conquered and just talked to a lot of people so that was a lot of fun haha! Then we had a mission conference about mental health and also about finding so that was pretty cool! An area authority and his wife came and gave a presentation so that was sweet! Then after that long conference we got back on the train and headed home! We talked to a lot of people again and I think people on the trains were getting sick of us, but who cares haha!

Wednesday- We had MCM in the morning at the chapel! After that we went and did some tracting for awhile and jus did finding! Then we went to the Tiananga's that night for dinner and after that we went to the chapel for splits but no one came for it, so we just crashed mutual and played crab soccer with all the young men and women haha so that was a lot of fun!

Thursday- Our ward mission leader shouted us some new haircuts since smith was going home so we got those in the morning and then had some lunch after! Then we went and visited the Mackie family and got to see how they were doing! Then we had to make a long trek out to the Roach family's house and it was awesome there! They own 100 acres of land where they live and it is so awesome there! We got to have dinner with them and get to know them better too! It was a good night there and I love that family!

Friday- We had no DTM because of the conference earlier in the week at Mortdale! So we went out and did some tracting and we got to teach a lady on her door step so that was pretty awesome! Then we went and got lunch with Aaron Mills, also known as Elder Mills haha he went home early due to sickness but now he lives in Dapto area! So he took us to lunch and then we took him to our appointment with Patricia! She is a lady we met when we were ordering food from her place she worked at! She is from Peru and she said that her mom is a member and she wanted us to come by and teach her! Mills speaks Spanish so that helped us a lot in the lesson too! We taught her the Restoration and it went well! We will teach her one more time and then pass her over to the Wollongong Elders because she is in their area haha! Then after that we had dinner with Robert and he made us a great roast lamb with veggies! I was so stuffed after it! Then we shared the Mormon message titled "Sanctify Yourselves" It went really good and he is progressing well!

Saturday- We went and did service in the morning for the McColl family! Then we went and had breakfast at the same place we had the massive burger and the owner made us American pancakes with maple syrup and a really good breakfast casserole! Then after that we had to go pick up a new fridge for the flat that the Mackies gave us! Then we came home and deep cleaned the flat! After that we got some dinner and then called it a night!

Sunday- Man what a day it was! We got to see the Kendrick's and Leihr's from Sutherland! They came down after church to see Elder Smith and me! We got to have a BBQ with them and also play some kickball just like old times! It was good to see them and I love those families! Then after that we went to a farewell party that Sister Tyson from the ward threw for all the missionaries that were leaving! Then after that we got all the transfer details and called all the missionaries that were leaving and got the details out!

Monday- Transfer day! We had to drive to Mortdale to drop off Elder Smith! We said see ya later and it was tough but we will see each other again in a year haha! Then I got Elder Foai and another Elder and drove back to Dapto! Then we went and got some lunch and then visited some less actives! We got to give a less active member a blessing after we taught her and that was pretty awesome! Then we went out to the Roach's house again for dinner! Then after that we had to drive back to Mortdale because Elder Smith left one of his bags in the car (no we did not plan that haha) So we stayed the night at the AP's flat and I got to see Smith one last time before he left for the airport this morning!

Things are good here and I am grateful to be a missionary! I know that all I gotta do is work hard and continue to do what my Father in Heaven would have me to do and I will be successful in His eyes! I just love this Gospel and I love being able to live it to the fullest every day! I know this great work is true and that this Church is the only true church on the Earth today! I love you guys and miss you tons! Have a good week!

Happy 4th mates

Hello Family and Friends! It has been a slow week due to sickness in the flat haha so sorry but this week isn't too exciting! Oh and happy 4th of July!! We sang Star Spangled banner this morning as a flat haha so that was awesome!

Monday- We had our usual P day activities, email and basketball! We played ball with the same kids as usual and we won again.. It was a lot of fun and we have become bros with the guys we play against so that is pretty fun haha! Then after ball Tala Tina'o took us to do go karting because he lost a bet he made with us, so we went and did that with him at the new indoor go kart track! Then after that we tried to go and visit a less active but she wasn't there! Then some members brought dinner by for us and we had a feast!

Tuesday- Elder Smith woke up feeling really sick and he got told to sleep and rest for the day by Sister Back. The only bad part was a family from one of his old areas which is 5 hours away from Dapto was coming that day and so it was too late to tell them not to come! So he had to grin and bare it as we went and had fish n chips with them by the beach. Then we went home and he rested for awhile. Then the same family took us to dinner just before they went back home that night. Then we went back to the flat for him to rest and go to bed haha so pretty average and boring day!

Wednesday- My turn to wake up and feel sick! Hahaha man the sickness spread around the flat this day and it was not good! I wasn't too bad but Elder Beazer had it pretty bad this day! Elder Smith and I still went out and did some work this day. We went and did some service that morning for the Macgregors! After we did that we shared a message with them and then we went and had some lunch! Then we went and saw sister Fisher who is in the nursing home! She is a funny old lady and she was happy to see us! After that we went to FHE at Sister Tyson's appartment complex meeting hall! It wasn't then best haha some of the people that go don't pay attention so that sucks but it was good still! Then after that we went and gave Kieran a blessing for his sickness and then we went home for the night and had dinner and went to bed and got some rest!

Thursday- We took the train to Dapto so that we could do some service for a member but she wasn't there haha so then we went back home and had some lunch! Trains here only come every hour and her house was quite the walk from the station haha so that was fun! Then we went and saw a less active named Dan Lane! He is an archer so that was pretty cool! He was a solid guy and it was nice to get to know him! Then we went to the Quinton's house for some din din and they went all out for dessert! We had some awesome ice cream sundaes! Then we shared a lesson with them and went home after that!

Friday- Had a good DTM and I trained on Charity! It was good for me to train on that because I lack charity sometimes haha! Then we got some free Kebabs from a member who works in the mall! After that we went to Byron's house to teach him the first part of the Plan of Salvation! It went really good and I just love Byron he is the man! Then we went to Keiran's house for some dinner and a lesson! We had some good tacos! Then we went to Nicola and Robert's house for a lesson! We showed them the new Mormon message about depression and stuff by Elder Holland! It went so good and it was what they needed to hear! Nicola is an excommunicated member and is working on coming back and she is shooting to be baptized in a year from now! Her husband Robert is a non member but he is one of our most solid investigators! It is always good to get to know them more and teach them :)

Saturday- Elder Smith had one of his recent converts from Cowra come and visit him today and he wanted to get her a gift so we went and found that in the morning time. Then we went and had a massive burger that we split between us and the other Elders in our flat! It was awesome! Then we went and met up with Smith's recent convert and got to talk to her and her sister for awhile! Then we went and got some list of recent converts off the computer for the zone since Smith is the zone leader and then we went to maccas and had dinner and went home!

Sunday- We had a good Sunday! We got to teach the 11-12 year old primary class and it was a lot of fun actually hahaha! Robert and Nicola both came to sacrament so that was awesome! Then after church we went and did some Less active visits and got to see the Mackies! After them we went and saw Robert and Nicola because Nicola leaves out of town for a week and won't get to see Smith again before he goes home! After that we went and had dinner at the Porter's house and man it was the best! We were having some funny conversations and everyone was in tears from laughing so hard, multiple times that night hahaha so needless to say they are awesome and it was a good night!

My spiritual thought this week is on Charity! Charity is a lot like faith, it leads to action! If you truly love someone then it will lead to action! As we have Charity we begin to see others for what they can become instead of what they are! We must pray to have this kind of love because Charity never fails!! Love one another and be sincere in your relationships with everyone! The more we exercise Charity the more our capacity to love grows!
